Meet Our Meditation Guides

Experienced practitioners who've spent years exploring the depths of contemplative philosophy and mindfulness practice

Our Teaching Philosophy

We believe meditation isn't about clearing your mind or reaching a flawless state of calm. It's more like learning to stay with whatever arises—the restless thoughts, the planning mind, and even that peculiar itch that shows up five minutes into sitting.

Our team blends decades of practice across diverse traditions. Some began meditation through academic philosophy, others through personal hardship, and a few discovered it in college and stayed. What unites us is a practical approach: teaching meditation as a useful skill for daily life, not a mystical experience.

Each guide has their own way of explaining ideas. Ravi Kapoor tends to use everyday-life analogies, while Priya Singh draws from her psychology background. We've found that different styles resonate with different people, so you’ll likely connect more with some approaches than others.

Ravi Kapoor

Lead Instructor

Ravi began practicing meditation in 1998 after burnout in his software engineering role. He spent three years studying Vipassana in Myanmar and later trained in Zen in Japan. What sets him apart is his talent for translating ancient ideas into relatable, modern examples—he once likened the monkey mind to having too many browser tabs open.

He leads our foundational courses and focuses on helping busy professionals cultivate sustainable meditation habits. His sessions often include practical discussions about weaving mindfulness into work life and managing stress without spiritual bypassing.

Philosophy Guide

Priya combines her PhD in Spain Philosophy with fifteen years of personal meditation practice. She found contemplative practice while researching ancient texts and realized that academic knowledge means little without experiential insight. Her approach blends scholarly understanding with practical application.

She leads our deeper philosophical explorations and retreat programs. Priya has a gift for making complex philosophical ideas accessible without oversimplifying them. Students often say she helps them grasp not just how to meditate, but why these practices emerged and what they aim to accomplish.

Why We Teach This Way

After years of practice and teaching, we’ve learned that meditation is most effective when it’s straightforward. We don’t promise enlightenment or guarantee perfect peace. Instead, we focus on building skills that help you navigate life’s inevitable challenges with greater awareness and less reactivity.

Our courses start in September 2025, giving you time to reflect on whether this approach resonates with you. We believe in taking time to make thoughtful decisions about contemplative practice—not rushing in on the basis of momentary enthusiasm.

If you’re curious about learning meditation as a practical life skill rather than a spiritual pursuit, we’d be honored to guide your exploration. The practice has changed our lives in subtle yet meaningful ways, and we’ve seen it do the same for many others.
